Job Summary: This position includes responsibility to provide effective people and systems management of the Quality Assurance team while overseeing all aspects of the Quality Assurance functions of Client. Quality Assurance responsibilities include ensuring that Client is operating in accordance with its AS9100 Quality Management System, FAA Part 21, FAA Part 145 and Customer flow down requirements and effectively dealing with specific quality related issues. This position supports the Director of Quality Assurance engagements with customer quality organizations and third-party auditors. This position is also responsible for working with procurement to effectively monitor and manage suppliers to ensure suppliers are meeting required quality performance levels for product delivered to Client.

Citizenship Requirements*US Citizenship or lawful permanent residence in the U.S. required in support of US Government contracts/subcontracts.

Required Skills and Experience: B.S. in Engineering or other technical degree or equivalent work experience (Ex: ASQ Certified OpEx and/or Quality Manager). 5 years of experience in manufacturing quality assurance with at least 2 of those years in a management role, and familiarity with ISO 9001/ AS9100 Aerospace Standards for Quality Management Systems. Interpersonal skills to constructively manage interactions and working relationships within the company, with customers and with outside suppliers. Energetic and creative with strong analytical skills and a solid work ethic. Technically proficient in computer applications: MS Word and Excel. Knowledge of and experience with various inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, CMM’s, etc. Knowledge of and experience with various standards such as ANSI Y14.5, ANSI/ESD S20.20, IPC-A-600/610/620, MIL-HDBK-454, etc. Language Skills: Must be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal teams and management. Must be able to communicate effectively, both written and verbally with employees of all levels within Client and with outside suppliers and customers.

Desired Additional Skills and Experience (Preferred, not Required) Electronic products experience Complex assembly – workmanship standards and acceptance testing Experience working with FAA Part 145 and EASA quality requirements. Familiarity with EH&S, RoHS, & Export Compliance ASQ Certified OpEx/Quality Manager

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Provides leadership to the Quality functions within the company, which includes, but is not limited to, monitoring and managing adherence to the company’s AS9100 system policies and procedures. Proactively recommends improvements to company policies and procedures which will improve internal and external quality performance. Oversees internal, regulatory, and customer audits, managing resolution of issues identified within the audits and subsequent implementation of corrective actions. Facilitates and executes effective corrective action processes. Recommends and implements systems to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the quality assurance function at Client. Monitors and drives Customer Scorecard and internal KPI metric actions to meet set goals. Ensures proper quality documentation and records are generated and maintained. Responsible for monitoring and ensuring calibrations are completed within the required time frame and properly paper and/or digitally stored as required. Monitors and ensures inspection equipment is kept in calibrated and usable condition. Manages the Quality department personnel (Inspection, Administration, Technical and Quality Engineering) to ensure efficient timely execution of quality functions to support Client’s operations. Actively involved in the Material Review Board process and results and managing the MRB process as required. Involvement with Supplier initiatives to improve reliability and quality of supplied parts and products and to reduce cost. Evaluates both potential and current Supplier quality systems and performs on-site audits as required. Stays up-to-date on Aerospace industry developments in the Quality Assurance area and recommends pro-active actions Client should implement. Supporting the Director of Quality Assurance in meeting requirements for Client’s FAA Part 145 and EASA repair station, including maintaining roster for repair station, approval of final inspection, and maintaining required repair station documentation. Supporting the Director of Quality Assurance efforts in continued compliance of Client’s Parts Manufacturer Approvals (PMA) with the FAA. Engaging with customer quality personnel – timely responding to questions and resolving issues. Other tasks as assigned from time to time.

Demands and Requirements of the job Ability to travel up to 5% of time. This position is primarily a sedentary office position working in a controlled, quiet office environment but requires a reasonable amount of time either in internal or customer meetings or on the production floor being actively involved with employees and resolving quality related issues. This position uses a computer terminal to access, input, and retrieve data. This position may be subject to frequent on the job interruptions that may cause a change in immediate priorities and/or work focus. While performing duties of this position, employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, and/or bend. This position will be subject to random drug and alcohol testing as part of the Company’s FAA-approved Drug & Alcohol Testing program, required for FAA Part 145 repair stations. May occasionally be required to lift, push, or pull maximum of 50 lbs. May be subjected to irregular or extended work hours. Must be able to work in an environment that may be subjected to occasional loud noises, hazardous materials and chemicals.
