Job Overview
The Director of Enterprise Architecture (EA) leads the EA function and is responsible for the Enterprise Architecture strategy, vision, and influence. The Director of EA partners with IT Directors and Business Partners to focus on IT Alignment to business strategy and to gain a holistic view of the organization including total cost, standards and technology change enablement. The Director of EA will develop enterprise level architecture strategies, standards and processes and work with EA Manager to implement and maintain. A key portion of this role will be collaboration with key IT and Business stakeholders and influence to gain buy-in for the best technology solution to solve business challenges based on CCCI needs and guidelines. The individual must have extensive experience with strategic leadership, people, technology, and budget management. The Director of EA will also need to have and continue to develop business knowledge to share knowledge and make technical decisions that enable strategic objectives.
Duties & Responsibilities
Leads the EA function Demonstrate a stewardship mindset over the EA function, championing processes, procedures, and decisions that are in the best interest of CCCI as an entire organization Review and adapt architecture processes and procedures as the EA function grows and matures Influence other teams and groups and drives change across the enterprise Foster a culture within the Architect Team and IT Delivery Teams that balances innovative ideas with intentional, strategic decision making Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the organization's business processes, goals, and strategies Develop organizational level 1-, 3-, and 5-year EA roadmap aligned to business objectives Partner with IT Directors and Business Partners to align business needs and IT requirements at the organization level Promote a culture of total solution evaluation for the Architecture Team as a core component of decision making Stay updated with emerging technologies relevant to CCCI business objectives and advocate for new standard solutions where added value exists Oversee and ensure adherence to Enterprise Architecture processes and standards Manage standard budgeting and headcount responsibilities for EA function Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
To be successful in this position the individual needs to have:
Excellent leadership skills Ability to create and execute on strategic vision and roadmap Ability to influence, energize and work with Leadership, Business, IT Directors, Architects, PMO, Delivery Teams and a variety or other roles to solve business problems leveraging technology Ability to mentor and coach others Knowledge of Enterprise Architecture frameworks and ability to apply concepts that work within the organization Knowledge of application, business, cloud, data, infrastructure, and security architecture disciplines Ability to handle pressure and deadline-oriented project demands, as well as manage multiple initiatives Strong experience managing change in an organization with a passion to lead successful team efforts and projects Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills, and the ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences at various hierarchical levels. Critical thinking skills along with strong problem-solving skills
Leadership expectations include leading the EA Manager, EA and EA function to provide the right solution for business challenges and mature Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (4 years) or equivalent Technology Certification Knowledge acquired through 10+ years of work experience spanning multiple IT disciplines/domains, such as technical architecture, application development, middleware, database management, cloud management, mobile management, data integrations and exchange frameworks, agile delivery, CI/CD 7+ years of IT leadership experience Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (4 years) in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field Project management and team management skills (e.g. planning, budgetary control, people management, etc., both for FTE and contracted services resources) Up-to-date knowledge of methodologies, technologies and trends in both business and IT, with preferred experience with agile methodologies Knowledge and experience leading all aspects of application software and services in the Microsoft suite of products, and the dominant cloud platforms (especially Azure) Work Environment
