Job Description Summary: The purpose of this position is to actively guide students through their pathway model by providing a strong advising process embedded, ongoing and supported by technology.

The MAP Advisor (My Academic Plan) will manage a caseload within a pathway from on-boarding through program completion, provide advising checkpoints at the 15, 30 and 45 credit benchmarks, track interactions with students, implement a proactive advising approach for students that have fallen in persistence probability, and meet the Objectives set forth by the Project SENDA (Students Engaged in Direct Advising) grant.

The MAP Advisor will collaborate with the College’s Director of Advising Initiatives, Outreach and Recruitment Department, QEP Committee, Department Chair and coordinate with faculty advisors to help students make informed choices about their degree, transfer and career opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor Degree -AND- One (1) year work experience in Education, Kinesiology, or Early Childhood.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor or Master degree in Education, Kinesiology, or Early Childhood Pathway.

Three (3) years higher education environment experience.

Student outreach experience.

Knowledge in interpreting the College’s catalog.

Understanding of the College’s general admissions requirement; financial aid requirements; department requirements; and academic support services.

Experience utilizing Etreive, Datatel/Colleague, and Civitas.
