Job Description
Under limited supervision, perform electronic, electromechanical or mechanical production sub-assembly and assembly operations to build up and assemble units of moderate complexity by following production instructions, parts lists, wire lists, diagrams, verbal instructions, and notes.
Responsibilities
Work from production/assembly instructions, parts lists, wire lists, diagrams, verbal instructions, and notes to assemble, wire and install a wide variety of components.
Identify and select components to be integrated into subassembly and assembly units.
Utilize small hand tools such as soldering irons, wire strippers, crimpers, wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, and hammers.
Essential Skills
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
1+ years of consistent working experience
6+ months of manufacturing work experience OR other relevant mechanical experience
Mechanical aptitude
Strong willingness to learn
Ability to stand for entire shift, use hand tools, and work well with others

Work Environment
Brand new manufacturing facility - climate controlled with a very nice building and atmosphere. 1st shift: either 5am - 3:30pm or 6am - 4:30pm Monday-Thursday, must be available for Friday OT as needed. Must be open to starting shift at either 5am or 6am, as it differs per department. 2nd shift: 2:30pm - 11pm Monday-Friday. The noise level is usually moderate, and the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lenexa, Kansas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $21.00/hr.
