The Sourcing Analyst will support the Sourcing Manager in managing sourced finished goods spend related to the Newell’s Home & Commercial business segment, supporting brands such as Oster and Sunbeam. The Analyst will assist with negotiations, analysis, project execution, etc. with the primary goal of driving productivity and other key procurement metrics. This role will also take the lead on New Product Development (NPD) procurement activity for the heated cooking and heating pad categories, primarily. They will collaboratively work with the procurement organization and cross-functional teams toward these goals.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Support the category manger in development and execution of sourcing strategies for designated commodities or product platforms that encompass the following:
Productivity – Develop productivity pipeline to deliver on annual gross productivity goals
Working capital improvements: payment terms extensions, lead time & inventory reductions
Responsible for supporting the category manager on commercial activities including:
Contract Management
Product / Part Qualification
Quotation preparation and negotiation activities
Regulatory Compliance
Vendor and part data management within SAP
Responsible for the supplier identification, quoting process, negotiations, and supplier selection on NPD projects, with a focus on meeting the customer and business needs.
Routinely works with global cross-functional project teams: Marketing, Engineering, Supplier Quality, Supply Chain and Program Management to ensure that NPD project are launched on-time, on-cost and on-specification.
Supplier and commodity spend management and productivity tracking
Effectively communicate project updates, recommendations, and sourcing strategies on a frequent basis to NPD teams and Senior Leadership.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required. Supply Chain, Business, Industrial Engineering or related field preferred.
1-2 years’ experience in sourcing or related business field
Experience sourcing from a global supply base (preferred)
Previous experience with consumer products company (preferred)
SAP experience (preferred)
Ability to manage multiple projects to completion and demonstrated problem solving skills
Effective oral and written communication skills
Excellent analytical and project leadership skills
Negotiation experience and strong communication skills externally with suppliers
Excel, Word, and PowerPoint experience are required
