Job Title: Warehouse Technician

Job Description

As a Warehouse Technician, you will work and communicate effectively with your team, assisting in various responsibilities related to the Distribution Center functions. Your duties will include accurately storing inventory, properly pulling inventory according to work orders, boxing, packaging, shipping orders, preparing truck manifests, and transporting materials from manufacturing to distribution. You will operate various lift and packaging equipment, including forklifts, bobtails, and order picking equipment, as well as spooling and boxing equipment. You will also assist in a variety of warehouse functions and take initiative to help out wherever needed. Attention to detail and the ability to continuously refer to alpha-numeric part numbers are essential.

Responsibilities

Accurately store inventory and pull inventory according to work orders

Box, package, and ship orders

Prepare truck manifests

Transport materials from manufacturing to distribution

Operate forklifts, bobtails, and order picking equipment to heights of 20 feet

Operate spooling and boxing equipment

Assist in various warehouse functions and identify areas in need of help

Perform occasional data entry to process shipments and track inventory

Store products in appropriate areas, with 80% forklift use and 20% manual stacking

Use RF scanner to store and track inventory

Pick materials using order picker for heights up to 20 feet

Pack materials and boxes using pneumatic hoist and lift tables

Process shipments in ERP system, requiring light computer skills

Transfer materials using pneumatic hoist and stage finished shipments

Essential Skills

Forklift operation

Inventory management

RF scanner usage

Packing and shipping

ERP system experience (SAP preferred)

2+ years of experience using ERP systems in a warehouse setting

2+ years of experience with RF scanning equipment

2+ years of experience driving material handling equipment (order picker, standup and sit-down forklift)

Valid California Driver’s license

Microsoft Office proficiency

Material handling skills

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Basic math skills for recording and tracking department metrics

Clear verbal and written communication skills

Ability to manually stack boxes weighing 10 – 110 pounds

Experience with pneumatic hoists and lift tables

Light computer skills for processing shipments

Flexible availability and willingness to work OT when required

Work Environment

The work environment is a large Distribution Center where you will wear goggles and earplugs on the manufacturing floor. The facility is not insulated, so it can be cold in the winter and hot in the summer. You will mostly work independently. The day shift runs from 6am to 3pm, and flexible availability is required. Overtime is required four times a year at the end of each quarter but is always available.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Union City, California.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
