Job Summary:
As a Phlebotomist III - Float, you'll play a vital role in providing top-notch patient care at our various locations. Your primary responsibility will be to draw accurate blood samples while ensuring a comfortable and positive experience for patients. You'll work closely with patients, explaining procedures, and building trust. Your ability to adapt to different work environments and lead teams will be essential in this dynamic role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Blood Sample Collection: Draw blood samples accurately and efficiently from patients of all ages, including pediatrics, geriatrics, and those with difficult veins.
- Patient Care: Create a welcoming and reassuring atmosphere for patients, explaining procedures clearly and addressing any concerns.
- Process Excellence: Adhere to established protocols for sample handling, labeling, and transportation.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and train new phlebotomists, providing guidance and support.
- Customer Service: Deliver exceptional customer service, resolving issues promptly and professionally.
- Adaptability: Be prepared to work in various settings, including doctor's offices, patient service centers, and long-term care facilities.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with patients, healthcare providers, and team members.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Medical assistant or paramedic training is preferred.
- Certification: Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections. At least 3 years in a PSC/IOP environment is preferred.
- Skills: Strong customer service orientation, keyboard/data entry proficiency, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Work Environment:
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM to 5 PM.
- Location: Float position covering various locations.
