Duties
Responsible for the treatment or prevention of physical disabilities or disease in order that patients will drive the maximum benefits from therapeutic activities.
Determines objectives, methods and techniques of therapy to be employed with emphasis on patient needs and limitations imposed by patient conditions.
Consults with patients and health professionals to gain understanding of the nature of problems, assesses physical capabilities, limitations and motivates participation in therapeutic activities.- Evaluates the effectiveness of the physical therapy activities provided in terms of modifying and predicting beneficial outcomes.
Prepares and recommends estimates of supplies and equipment needed on both long term and short term basis.
Maintain current documentation of patient evaluation and progress notes on assigned patients.
Exercises full responsibility for planning, organizing, reviewing evaluating and implementing the Physical Therapy program. Plans and adjust work schedules and operations. Assigns work to employees to achieve satisfactory quality of patient care. Reviews work of staff, staff workload reports.

A graduate or higher-level degree that included:
A physical therapy curriculum approved by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or a professional accrediting organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained; and,
Completion of the clinical requirements prescribed by the school.
Licensure : For all grade levels and positions, applicants must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physical Therapist from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States; and must have passed the National Physical Therapy Examination administered by the (FSBPT).

Applicants who have completed an approved graduate level curriculum and who subsequently completed additional graduate training in a specialized field of clinical practice designed to assure professional competence to practice in the specialty meet the requirements for GS-11. Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-11 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Examples of specialized experience are: providing a full-range of physical therapy direct patient care for all ages; coordinating, implementing and controlling administrative and clinical functions of the Physical Therapy Department; providing direct supervision to program staff.
