The Community FoodBank of New Jersey (CFBNJ) is seeking a Senior Data Specialist to support the development of systems, processes and tools that guide the planning, implementation, impact tracking, and reporting of our Community Nutrition, Child Nutrition, and Workforce Development programs. This position supports program evaluation and contributes to the team’s ability to collect, analyze, and present key insights utilizing data. This position sits on a highly collaborative team with representation across programs focusing on monitoring, evaluation, and learning.
The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in data management, monitoring, and evaluation. Should have expertise in excel and data management software and have the ability to analyze and visualize data to demonstrate impact. The candidate should be highly motivated and want to use their skills in leveraging data to help change people’s lives. This includes leading and supporting monitoring, evaluation, and learning projects, with other data specialists across the organization
What you’ll do in your role:
Use and daily maintenance of multiple platforms to track and analyze data according to specific program deliverables, including Excel, Power Pivot, Power Automate, and Power BI.
Focus on data hygiene and auditing to ensure accurate reporting, including reviewing data across dashboards, platforms, and applications for accuracy and conducting any necessary cleaning.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual, and custom data reports leveraging strong data analysis and visualization skills.
Maintenance and development of data tools, dashboards, visualizations, and summary tables.
Work across teams as a thought partner to continually develop and refine data processes, with the goal of improving program operational efficiencies and measuring programmatic impact.
Engage in exploratory research to inform and strengthen programmatic impact across departments producing reports, briefs, and trainings.

What you’ll need to be successful in this role:
Bachelor’s degree in data management, evaluation, or related field (Public Health, Data Analytics, etc.), or equivalent combination of education and experience working in data driven positions
1 to 3 years of experience in monitoring and evaluation. Specifically creating, updating, auditing, and reporting data in a database environment and leveraging data to inform programmatic impact through routine report development.
Must have experience working with Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel
Must have experience working in Power BI or other similar software such as Tableau
Demonstrated ability to utilize data for reporting, storytelling, and ability to merge several data types and sources into one system
Ability to manage and prioritize workload in a team environment
This position may have a varied work schedule that includes nights and weekends to meet the program scheduling needs and achieve deliverables.
