Who we are looking for: We are currently looking for a Human Resources Generalist to be based out of our global headquarters in Harvey, IL. Reporting to the Director, Corporate HR, this person will be responsible for being a business partner and providing a range of HR services to their Corporate client group. They will be an integral contributor to the success of our HR team by also supporting execution of talent management programs and supporting Talent Acquisition in a recruiting capacity. What you'll do: Act as strategic business partner for corporate functional client groups by creating and leading HR solutions to ensure overall performance within those groups. Provide HR support in new initiative rollouts in the form of innovative ideas, communication, change management, and thought partnership. Partner with leaders within your client groups to drive talent management and performance management, which includes succession planning, training and development, performance review completion, etc. Support, drive and lead process improvements for enterprise-wide HR programs and best practices, including 'owning' multiple initiatives. Handle full-cycle recruitment for all positions within client groups. These will be mostly made up of professional positions, contractors and occasionally interns. Source talent through UKG applicant tracking system and external job boards, such as LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, and University Career Sites. Maintain high-touch relationships with a robust pipeline of highly qualified candidates. Schedule and conduct phone screens and in-person interviews, while providing candidates with interview feedback. Provide coaching, tools and support to help management teams drive performance and engagement & alignment with their employees.
What you'll bring: A Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, Management or a related field (this is required; additional higher education is great!). A PHR certification never hurts, but it's more important that have at least some experience as the go-to business partner for a group of people in an organization. Minimum of 3 to 5 years' experience in a Human Resources, preferably in a mid-size company (1,000 - 10,000 employees) and with experience in multiple HR disciplines. The ability to manage a project and the desire to 'own' enterprise-level initiatives. An enthusiasm about embracing our core values of Accountability, Teamwork, Integrity, Respect, and Excellence. A capacity for a fast-paced, high-growth environment. We're looking for someone that is adaptable to changes in the work environment, comfortable with multiple competing demands and who is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events in a calm and logical manner.
Within 3 months, you'll: Complete your Atkore immersion program. Understand how your job will help deliver Atkore's strategy. Gain an understanding of your role, the HR organization, and the organization you support. Gain an understanding of the training materials and procedures your team owns.
Within 6-months, you'll: Establish strong working relationships with the leadership team you support as well as build rapport with employees Be leading the recruitment process for the salaried and hourly openings at your sites Identify opportunities to improve standard processes in employee and labor relations Identify ways to strengthen the team's commitment to Atkore's core values of Accountability, Teamwork, Integrity, Respect and Excellence.
Within 12-months, you'll: Have meaningful performance conversations and coaching sessions with your site leaders. Lead development and training for supervision and front-line associates. Be able to resolve any issues quickly and safely
