We are currently looking for an experienced buyer/planner to help in our purchasing department. In the purchasing department you are a crucial part of the supply chain. JOB SUMMARY: The Buyer will be responsible for ensuring that the materials, products, and supplies needed for the manufacturing processes are procured in a timely, cost-effective, and efficient manner. This role will work with suppliers to negotiate prices and terms, develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, and manage the procurement process from start to finish. This position will collaborate with production, engineering, production planners, warehouse staff, and quality assurance teams to ensure that all purchased materials meet the necessary standards and specifications.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Write, issue, and track PO’s within the ERP system;
Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and supplies for manufacturing operations;
Identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities, pricing, and quality standards;
Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and delivery schedules;
Manage supplier performance, including tracking delivery schedules, ensuring quality standards are met, and resolving any issues that arise;
Work closely with production, engineering, planning, and quality assurance teams to ensure that all purchased materials meet the necessary standards and specifications;
Monitor market trends, prices, and availability of materials to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements;
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient and effective procurement processes;
Work closely with Production Planner to verify that materials are purchased for production teams;
Other job-related responsibilities as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, engineering, or related field or relevant experience in lieu of degree;
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in procurement or purchasing within a manufacturing environment;
Strong negotiation skills and ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with vendors;
Knowledge of procurement and supply chain management principles, including inventory management, sourcing strategies, and supplier management;
Proficiency in using procurement software, inventory management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite;
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams;
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
