Job Description: Amherst College invites applications for the Program Coordinator for Strategic Access Initiatives position. The Program Coordinator for Strategic Access Initiatives is a three-year term, 30-hour/week position, starting at \$22.37 per hour - commensurate with experience. Given Amherst\'s distinction as one of the most diverse liberal arts colleges in the country, the successful candidate will demonstrate the ways in which they bring value to and will work towards supporting a broadly diverse community. The Program Coordinator for Strategic Access Initiatives is a newly created position in the Office of Admission which will play a critical role in realizing innovative programs designed to increase the diversity of the applicant pool. This role will be responsible for organizing and executing new pilot programs, both on-campus and off-campus. Responsibilities include generating detailed action plans and timelines, arranging event logistics and services (e.g. rooms, audio-visual, catering, travel), and leading the creative process for developing and executing an event design (venue, event format, publicity, etc.). The Coordinator must have strong interpersonal skills to work with key players in these events, including a diverse group of faculty, alumni, students, administrators, prospective students, and prospective student family members. Working with the Amherst College Office of Admission, and specifically within Strategic Access Initiatives, requires a desire to engage on issues of antiracism and equity in educational opportunity. Evening and weekend work is sometimes required. This is a three-year term position. Qualifications: Required Bachelor\'s Degree or, in lieu of a Bachelor\'s Degree, more than four years of related experience coordinating programs or projects 1-3 years of experience in education or program coordination Valid Driver\'s License and successful credentialing is required in order to operate college vehicles Excellent project management skills with exceptional attention to detail Demonstrated organizational and time management skills; can prioritize and achieve multiple tasks Proficiency in the use of technology and programs, such as Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Ability to exercise good judgment and think independently while working in a dynamic team environment Excellent interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills and able to communicate effectively with varied constituencies, including prospective applicants, parents, high school counselors, alumni, faculty, and staff Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information Experience working with diverse communities and contributing to an intentionally inclusive experience for all Preferred Bachelor\'s Degree from Amherst College Experience with relevant software (or similar products), including Asana (project management), Workday (financial management), Event Management System (EMS) (facility reservations), Slate (CRM) Amherst College offers many opportunities for professional growth and development, continued learning, and career advancement.
