As Virtuoso continues to scale our BI department, the Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for designing and developing business management systems and architecture, focusing on data organization to support our internal dashboards and data products.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Build universes with business logic to support end user decision making. Works with data stewards to develop and implement data mining, storing and analysis methods to improve data management. Drive and specify global design and development principles for external partner reporting. Conduct research and analyses, gathering and analyzing data from BI analysts, troubleshooting programs, creating and implementing test systems, and modifying structures when necessary. Design and development of analysis cubes, star schema, or data mining assets supporting measurement and predictive analysis (feature stores, measure stores, etc.). Develop documentation of changes and procedures to move code changes from development to QA and production. Ensure data accuracy across application interfaces by documenting ETL job process flow. Identify custom extraction needs and document architecture. Review the functional and technical specifications and lead data profiling efforts to uncover data anomalies and inconsistencies. Optimize query performance with indexes, table partitions, unnecessary column removal, and redundant/inconsistent data elimination.
Educational and Skills Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in any quantitative field (business, math, finance, statistics, computer science, engineering, etc.) 7 years of in-depth experience working on business intelligence projects modeling complex data Proven ability to translate complex business needs into technical requirements and deliver solutions Expert-level proficiency in SQL Experience working in Agile/Scrum environment 3+ years experience with Snowflake preferred 5+ years experience with Tableau preferred Detail oriented with strong sense of data accuracy Advanced knowledge of the principles of data analysis and data quality High level of attention to detail Creative problem solving Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Travel Requirements:
Infrequent travel may be required to attend company events (1-3 trips per year). Travel will be primarily domestic but may include some international.

Internal: Key job contacts are primarily with director level staff and above outside of the job’s immediate work unit/department. External: Contact possible with members, partners, and outside vendors.
