As Virtuoso continues to scale our BI department, the Business Intelligence Director is responsible for managing a team of BI Analysts as well as providing data analysis, data visualizations, and partnering with various internal teams across the organization to provide insights.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Provide advanced data analysis to inform business strategies and drive partner engagement. Work with analytics engineering to combine data sources to discover insights, identify trends, and investigate anomalies. Develop data visualizations using Tableau that inform business users of performance, opportunities, and room for improvement across our product offerings. Manage and mentor a team of BI Analysts to deliver the best possible Tableau dashboarding products for both internal and external audiences. Support, deliver, and explain reporting across the business to inform users of how reports operate, what they are displaying, and what they mean. Work with complex projects and business requirements while making output user friendly and comprehensive. Perform root-cause analysis and seek to understand the data. Ability to work in a white space environment and be creative. Perform ad-hoc analysis around all product types within the Virtuoso network.
Educational and Skills Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in any quantitative field (business, math, finance, statistics, computer science, engineering, etc.) 7+ years of in-depth experience working on business intelligence projects with broad industry scope, as well as prior experience interacting with external contacts or clients. 5+ years working with Tableau 7+ years working with SQL Minimum 3 years people management experience Detail oriented with strong sense of data accuracy Advanced data visualization skills and admin knowledge in Tableau Advanced SQL skills (Snowflake experience a plus) Advanced knowledge of the principles of data analysis and data quality High level of attention to detail Creative problem solving Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Travel Requirements:
Infrequent travel may be required to attend company events (1-3 trips per year). Travel will be primarily domestic but may include some international.
Type/Nature of Contacts:
Internal: Key job contacts are primarily with director level staff and above outside of the job’s immediate work unit/department. External: Contact possible with members, partners, and outside vendors.
