Join Our Data Analytics & Insights Team as a Business Intelligence Developer!
We are seeking a talented Business Intelligence Developer to join our Data Analytics & Insights Group. In this role, you will design, develop, and deliver analytical dashboards and reporting solutions for both explanatory and exploratory analytics across the enterprise. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify key business questions and ensure that the dashboards drive critical business outcomes. Depending on the business needs, dashboards may be strategic, operational, or tactical.
Additionally, you will support data democratization efforts across the organization by delivering self-service BI solutions, particularly through Tableau dashboards, and by supporting the internal analytics community.
This role will be located on-site in Cedar Rapids, Iowa or West Des Moines, Iowa with the option for a 50/50 hybrid structure.
Key Responsibilities:
Dashboard Development:
Design, develop, and deliver enterprise-level BI solutions, including dashboards and recurring reports, using best practices in data visualization. Stakeholder Collaboration:
Partner with business stakeholders and analysts to define, develop, and deliver domain-specific BI solutions that provide insights for critical business decisions. Cross Team Collaboration:
Collaborate with subject matter experts and the data engineering team to create ad hoc SQL queries and enterprise-level data marts for recurring analysis and self-service capabilities. Customer Interaction:
Work directly with external customers to design, deliver, and maintain customer-facing self-service online reporting portals. Platform Management:
Ensure high availability and accuracy of deliverables on the enterprise BI platform, particularly Tableau. Technical Partnership:
Partner with technical teams to inform changes to source system data structures and identify impacts on downstream BI products. Cultural Promotion:
Promote a data-driven culture throughout GreatAmerica by actively participating in a data champion community for knowledge and best practice sharing. To be successful in this role you'll need:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Analytics, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certification in business analytics is a plus. 3+ years of experience in designing and delivering actionable data visualizations. 3+ years of experience in SQL query writing and data modeling. High proficiency in using data visualization and dashboard tools such as Tableau, Salesforce, PowerBI, or similar platforms. Proficient in using Microsoft Office suite, including SQL Server Management Studio and/or Azure Data Studio. Experience with agile analytics delivery models is a plus. Knowledge and demonstrated use of data visualization best practices.
