We are seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for collecting specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens, blood samples, and processing pathology and cytology samples. This role involves researching test/client information, verifying orders, completing data entry, and safeguarding billing information and payments.
Responsibilities- Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens, blood samples, and processing pathology and cytology samples.
- Research test/client information and verify all written and electronic orders using lab technology systems or directory of services.
- Accurately complete all data entry requirements, including patient registration, test order entry, and billing information.
- Collect payments and safeguard assets, including credit card information.
- Process specimens by labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing as required by test specifications.
- Perform clerical duties such as data entry, inventory management, stock supplies, and answering phones when necessary.
- Verify patient demographic information and ensure tubes are labeled correctly in the presence of the patient.
- Maintain phlebotomy logs, including maintenance and temperature logs, in a timely manner.
- Complete training courses and stay up-to-date with the latest phlebotomy techniques.

This role involves lots of travel between nursing and assisted living homes. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturdays for pickups. The typical start time is as early as 6 AM for fasting labs, with most days starting around 7 AM and ending by 4:30 PM. There is a Saturday rotation with the entire team, approximately every 5th or 6th Saturday, from 8 AM to 3 PM. The position includes facilities and home draws, a car allowance of $250.00 per month, a gas card, and full benefits.
