Position Summary:

They are seeking a highly organized individual with strong initiative to join their team. This role demands proficiency in managing multiple projects within tight deadlines, along with effective communication skills to collaborate seamlessly with department members in pursuit of common objectives.

Job Essentials, Responsibilities, Duties:

  • Manage the preparation of financial statements in accordance with established business management protocols, overseeing tasks such as journal entry posting, account reconciliations, budgeting, cash flow management, and workers' compensation audits.
  • Present financial analyses, long-term cash flow projections, and profit and loss (P&L) reports.
  • Ensure timely delivery of weekly client communications, including cash reports and updates.
  • Supervise the creation, review, and approval of budgets, shareholder payroll, and 1099 reports.
  • Collaborate with management in recording and evaluating estate planning, asset acquisitions, and investments.
  • Review the accuracy of work performed by Senior Staff Accountants, including accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, and payroll processing.
  • Assist in ad hoc projects as required.
  • Oversee payroll services and associated journal entries.
  • Cultivate professional relationships with clients' trusted advisors to address ongoing matters.
  • Validate annual financial statements for tax purposes and implement operational best practices.
  • Supervise day-to-day financial management tasks conducted by Senior Staff Accountants, including bill payments, revenue tracking, commission reporting, and customized accounting procedures.

Reports To: Business Manager or Director

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Lead ad hoc projects as necessary.
  • Manage and mentor a proficient accounting team, ensuring the achievement of team objectives and goals.
  • Provide motivation, training, and career development opportunities for team members.
  • Facilitate training sessions for Senior and/or Staff Accountants.
Specific Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel.
  • Preference for candidates accustomed to fast-paced environments.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction within the organization.
  • Meticulous attention to detail to produce accurate and timely reports.
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and alignment with organizational culture and values.
Qualifications:
  • CPA, CFP, or CMA certification required.
  • Prior experience in staff management essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with executive teams and possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Track record of outstanding performance in previous roles.
  • Experience within family offices, entertainment, or legal firms preferred.
