Your Role
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for various accounting activities within the Merchandise Accounting team and will report to the Merchandise Accounting Manager. These include supporting the month-end close process, journal entries, retail stock ledger balancing and balance sheet reconciliations. You will also support the monthly reporting function by preparing various financial reports and schedules and manage various ad-hoc requests for data or analysis from business partners and management.

What You’ll Do
- Completion of assigned monthly close activities
- Ensuring recognition of merchandise inventory and gross margin is in compliance with the Company’s accounting policies
- Preparation of assigned reporting deliverables for merchandise inventory and gross margin
- Analyze variances and provide commentary on prepared reports and schedules
- Build relationships with FP&A and Merchants to understand variances and provide commentary for reporting deliverables
- Preparation of monthly reconciliations
- Partner with Merchants to prepare quarterly reports relating to inventory reserves
- Responsible for special projects along with day-to-day inventory accounting function
What You Bring
- 3+ year’s Accounting/Finance experience (Public Accounting experience a plus)
- Strong accounting skills (Retail/Inventory experience a plus)
- Experience with major ERP system (Oracle a plus)
- Excellent Excel skills (SQL experience a plus)
- Ability to interrogate, manipulate and understand data from various inventory systems which integrate with Oracle to determine the correct accounting position
- Very flexible and able to function in a dynamic environment with changing priorities
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with people at various levels (including non-financial associates)
- Strong written communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team
