As the Accounting and Retail Intern, you will report to the Director of Accounting & Finance and work alongside the Assistant Director to implement USA Baseball's accounting policies and procedures. Your role will involve supporting the organization's financial operations, contributing to merchandise and ticketing systems, and assisting in financial reconciliations. You will also gain hands-on experience with accounting systems and controls while playing a key role in USA Baseball's national events and retail operations.

Anticipated End Date: August 2025


POSITION DETAILS

  • Full-time hours (40+ hours/week)
  • On-Site
    • Based in Cary, NC with a fully dedicated workstation during standard business hours
  • Domestic travel involved in this position (all travel costs covered by USA Baseball)

IN THIS ROLE
  • You will assist in executing accounting policies and procedures to ensure accurate financial tracking and analysis.
  • You will help design and implement record-keeping and internal accounting controls for the organization.
  • You will log accounting entries and work with accounting systems, gaining valuable practical experience.
  • You will support accounts payable and receivable operations to maintain financial accuracy.
  • You will assist with accounting tasks related to merchandise and ticketing operations, including inventory management.
  • You will travel to Arizona to oversee financial operations, including deposits and reconciliations, during USA Baseball's National Team Championships.
  • You will oversee financial operations at events hosted at the National Training Complex in Cary, NC.
  • You will support additional USA Baseball events, national team programming, and other organizational departments as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • You are currently pursuing or have recently completed a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related business field.
  • You have weekend and weekday availability to support USA Baseball events at the National Training Complex in Cary, N.C.
  • You are detail-oriented and organized, with a passion for accuracy and efficiency in financial processes.
  • You are adaptable, with the ability to balance multiple responsibilities in a dynamic environment.
  • You are committed to professionalism and excellence in your work.
  • You can successfully complete a background check prior to employment.
