Job Summary:The Manufacturing Program Manager is responsible for coordinating manufacturing programs from start to finish, ensuring they meet quality, budget, and timeline requirements. This role involves managing cross-functional teams, creating detailed program plans, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to optimize manufacturing performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Management:Oversee manufacturing programs from planning to completion, including timelines, resource allocation, and budgeting. Ensure that program goals align with organizational and manufacturing objectives.
- Team Leadership:Lead cross-functional teams-engineering, production, quality, and supply chain-by fostering collaboration and providing support to achieve project success.
- Project Coordination:Manage schedules to ensure milestones and deliverables are met on time. Identify potential risks, implement mitigation strategies, and ensure effective communication among all stakeholders, including suppliers and customers.
- Process Improvement:Drive initiatives to enhance manufacturing processes, reduce costs, and increase efficiency. Analyze performance metrics and make necessary adjustments to achieve program goals.
- Quality and Compliance:Ensure compliance with quality standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices. Oversee quality assurance activities and address any quality issues during the program lifecycle.
- Budget and Resource Management:Manage program budgets, maintaining cost control and resource optimization. Allocate personnel, equipment, and materials efficiently to meet program needs.
- Reporting and Documentation:Provide regular program status updates, including progress, risks, and financials. Maintain organized program documentation, including plans, meeting notes, and performance data.
- Certification in Project Management (PMP) or Lean Six Sigma
- Experience with ERP and manufacturing execution systems (MES)
- Familiarity with ISO and FDA regulatory requirements
- Experience with plastic injection molding
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Proven experience in program/project management in a manufacturing setting
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality management, and continuous improvement practices
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional teamwork
