Job Responsibilities and Requirements
Job Summary:
Responsible for assisting in the identification and analysis of business needs and solving problems by supporting the implementation of IT solutions that reflect the necessary functionality to address business goals and objectives. Utilizes broad IT and business knowledge to help implement IT solutions that address business needs. For Agile implementations, helps to plan, lead, and execute IT Business Analysis effort for the development of software requirements through continual exploration of the business need - eliciting and refining requirements through an iterative process of planning, defining acceptance criteria, prioritizing, developing, and reviewing the results. Mentors and leads other IT Business Analysts and IT Business Analysis effort for projects and operational enhancements.
Duties and Responsibilities: Responsibilities may be Operational (Support of "Business as Usual" scope of work) or Strategic (Program/Project scope of work) Fulfills responsibilities noted below with provision of IT Business Analysis leadership and guidance for projects and operational work items. Responsibilities are performed with a high degree of IT Business Analysis expertise. Partners with internal and external stakeholders, business and IT staff, to identify, specify, develop, and implement technology solutions and applications that address specific business requirements Facilitates and executes the following IT Business Analysis activities with no supervision: Business Analysis Planning and Monitoring Stakeholder Analysis Requirements Elicitation activities Requirements Scope and Solution Management and Communication Enterprise Analysis Requirements Analysis Solution Assessment, Validation and Delivery
Minimal feedback is necessary to complete requirements, regardless of complexity Work product is fully acceptable and routinely achieved without supervision or feedback Is able to apply skills to systems or processes where there is no previous experience Complex situations are dealt with using experience and intuition, with an understanding of the big picture and how the individual actions fit within Strong ability to resolve complex issues, determining priority of issues, and capability to see alternative courses of action while taking full responsibility for own work and decisions Knows when work product is off track and is able to self-correct. Uses business and technical knowledge to participate in the re-engineering of business operations to improve business results, reduce expenses, and improve workflow Applies advanced skills for facilitating partnerships with all stakeholders identified - Business, Vendor, Systems & Development and Quality Assurance, to ensure that customer requirements are translated to design specifications and address any ambiguities in functional requirements to support appropriate testing efforts May support the preparation of Financial / Cost Benefit Analysis to assist management in decision-making process regarding system changes. Able to evaluate/challenge vendor expenses to determine if the return on investment exceeds the cost of the project Fosters a team oriented working environment that promotes open discussion on important issues, a high level of personal commitment, transparency and accountability to the business, and a continued focus on quality and customer service High degree of proficiency required in deciding on requirements tools, techniques and deliverables to be utilized for particular assignments. Examples of deliverables to be produced are CBAs, Requirements Strategy and Planning document, Detailed Requirements plans and proposals, Vision statements, BRDs, Functional specifications, Epics, Features and User Stories, Use Case Models and Narratives, Process Flow diagrams, Requirements Traceability Matrices, Interface and Data Mapping documents, Requirements Estimates, etc. Required to Mentor and may allocate work to other IT Business Analysts, assisting them with planning, coordinating and prioritizing their work. Advanced understanding of Business Requirements fundamentals as encompassed in the BABOK© Guide (Business Analysis Body of Knowledge) and its applicability to the position 5 years prior experience as a Business Analyst in either IT or Operational business areas is required. Prior working experience or practice as a Developer, Project Management Associate, QA/UAT Analyst, Business Analyst, Product Owner, Business Operational/Process Analyst or equivalent experience is preferred. Degree or college diploma/certificate in business or information technology, or similar work experience is highly preferred Strong working knowledge and good theoretical knowledge of various requirements tools, techniques and methodologies Certification in Business/Process Analysis (i.e. CBAP, Lean Six Sigma), Project Management (i.e. PMP, CSM) or other business or technical domains (i.e. ITIL) is highly preferred Knowledge of RSLI products and systems is a plus Insurance experience preferred Very strong verbal, written, interpersonal and consultative communication skills with advanced negotiation and influencing abilities Analytical thinking and problem solving with the ability to maintain a strategic perspective even while being detail-oriented Must be results-oriented, with attention to detail and committed to a high level of accuracy with ability to multi-task Must possess strong organization skills and open-minded flexibility to manage changing business priorities Able, willing and desirous to learn new skills and apply them in a thorough, open-minded and thoughtful manner Advanced proficiency with various Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Word, Access, Projects, PowerPoint, and Visio Prior experience working with AGILE methodologies is required Strong knowledge of the full software development lifecycle (SDLC). Ability to analyze and understand complex workflows and processes, and to develop innovative approaches to improve processes. Ability to communicate technical ideas in non-technical language to business stakeholders Ability to define and prioritize product requirements and work with technical teams Ability to articulate ideas and information in group settings - leading large group discussions as needed Expertise to evaluate existing system capabilities and to articulate its strengths and weaknesses Strong capability to work effectively with diverse and globally distributed work teams Ability to Travel:

The expected hiring range for this position is $76,380.00 - $101,970.00 annually for work performed in the primary location (Philadelphia, PA). This expected hiring range covers only base pay and excludes any other compensation components such as commissions or incentive awards. The successful candidate's starting base pay will be based on several factors including work location, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Work location may be flexible if approved by the Company.
