Colliers Engineering & Design is looking for a dynamic leader with an entrepreneurial drive who is eager to develop business opportunities, manage clients, and grow our exceptional Rail Engineering business. We are seeking a Transit Project Manager to join our Rail/Track Engineering team! In this role, you will plan, design, and direct assigned projects in all facets of rail engineering products.
Offering a full range of rail planning, design and engineering services to Class 1, short line, transit agencies, departments of transportation and other rail clients. Our expertise ranges from preliminary planning and feasibility studies through final design and construction inspection. This includes service for rail freight, intercity passenger rail, commuter rail and industrial installations.
Our rail and transit experts bring broad industry expertise to every project and have extensive experience in the Class 1 and short line freight railroad environment and provide engineering and design for commuter rail and light rail. Responsibilities
Ensure the success of the projects under his/her management (including planning, quality assurance, deadlines and financial aspects). Coordinate the work and workload of project staff, which may include engineers, designers and technicians. Assist engineers, designers, and other project managers in design decision-making. Monitor project costs to ensure that project is delivered within budget, fulfills customer expectations, and maintains profitability. Fulfill client manager role for clients in his/her own discipline and market for other disciplines. May prepare Project Work Plan (including Quality Plan) in conjunction with project team, including quality reviewer. Prepare proposals (assumptions, scope of work, budget, etc.) as appropriate. Review invoice charges for accuracy related to hours billed. Coordinate customer billing and/or invoicing with Accounting Department. Prepare monthly financial reports (project percent complete, etc.). Coordinate staff training and professional development. Participate in outside organizations, events & conferences on behalf of Colliers Engineering & Design. Market and cross sell other company services in addition to Rail. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering. 10+ years' experience in Track Design. Transit agency experience required. Prior experience with business development, client relations, and mentoring junior staff required. Prior experience with Microstation, including InRoads and OpenRoads needed. AutoCAD experience is a plus. In-depth knowledge of the regulatory permitting process for regions covered. Professional Engineering license required; all candidates should qualify for licensure. Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions. What We Offer
