We have an exciting opportunity for a Gateway VSM Software Tools Engineer to join our team with the Engineering division. If selected you will: Develop Software Testing Tools in support of the simulation of the Gateway Vehicle System Manager, including a reporting tool and a timeline translator tool Decompose system requirements into software requirements Develop software to provide the required functionality using C/C++ and Python Perform software testing and verification Develop software documentation Perform other duties as assigned Requisition Qualifications: This position has been posted at multiple levels. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in engineering and a minimum of 2- 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area Strong C/C++ programming skills and experience within the last two years Proficiency in C/C++ programming language Proficiency in Python programming language Experience in User Interface/User Experience design and Graphical User Interface development Configure and troubleshoot development software with limited documentation Identify bugs and work with the existing tools to resolve Organize and manage multiple priorities Communicate and demonstrate progress to management Requisition Preferences: MS degree in engineering and five (5) years of direct engineering experience Experience with avionics systems design and development software Familiarity with Git and or other similar configuration management/version control systems Experience with NASA and JSC policies and procedures, including the NASA Software Engineering Handbook Familiarity with NASA NPR 7150.2 software engineering requirements Why Join Our Team? Essential Functions Work Environment Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task. Physical Requirements Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time). Equipment and Machines Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.). Attendance Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
