ABOUT THE POSITION Dexis is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to support the Controller in ensuring that the day-to-day accounting functions, including Accounts Payable and General Ledger, are completed with accuracy, timeliness, and in accordance to Dexis' systems of internal controls. This position is based in Arlington, VA. It is a hybrid position, expected to be in the office 1-2 days per week. RESPONSIBILITIES Serve as a functional SME in all areas of accounting. Seen as a centralized, trusted resource in support of this function. Works in close partnership with the Controller and across the company. Mentor and train staff accountants on accounting principles, software systems, and company policies. Manage the accounting team and systems to ensure timely, complete and accurate performance. Supervise the month-end close, ensuring timely processing of all transactions, adjustments and reconciliations, developing and utilizing necessary tools. Oversee subledger transactions and balances to ensure proper month-end close requirements and reconcile aging, directing AP and related functions, Prepare and post journal entries and accruals in collaboration with the Controller to facilitate timely and accurate monthly financial reporting processes. Independently analyze and review accounting data and prepare reconciliations for GL accounts such as bank, fixed assets, prepaids, accrued expenses and intangibles. Supervise relationships between strategic vendors and internal resources, ensuring effective communication and meeting vendor and PMU needs. Collaborate with Finance and support PMUs with activities including invoice validation, cost corrections and timely invoice approvals. Supervise vendor management processes including adding/updating vendors as needed in the accounting system including W-9/W-8 and 10-99 reporting. Primary point of contact for customer and vendor inquiries for the accounting department. Lead accounting software modifications and implementations including testing in sandbox versions and documenting processes. Manage and streamline the bank, accrual and prepayment recording process, reduce closing time and improve financial control by implementing a suitable tool. Interpret financial data from the accounting system and provide insights to the Controller by identifying trends and anomalies. Independently conduct a thorough review of P&L and Balance Sheet transactions, providing guidance on completeness of costs and revenues, Manage the intercompany transactions determining the appropriate reporting by entity for month-end close. Primary contact for external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations for accrual-related transactions. Develop cash flow analysis and bank solutions (e.g. connect bank accounts to ERP). QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory experience. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software such as Costpoint Experience with financial statement audits and DCAA. Strong track record of analytical and problem-solving skills. Innovative and energetic mindset. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to mentor and train junior staff. Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS CPA or CPA candidate. Knowledge and strong experience in Floqast or Blackline implementation. Knowledge and experience in Power BI. Experience in TM1.
