Job Description Position Summary The A/R Accountant is responsible for the collection of rents, identification and resolution or escalation of tenant issues, maintenance of tenant database, account analysis, reconciliation, and reporting as applicable. Responsibilities Review and analyze aged receivables reports and system information to determine priority of tenant contacts Perform collection calls on base rents and other charges on assigned tenant accounts pursuant to established department policies and procedures Provide customer service to both tenants and internal customers including: Leasing, Property Management, Accounting, etc. Prepare interpretation of lease language for review by Manager for response to tenant inquiries Recommend action to management (default, litigation, etc.). for tenants who do not remit payment Utilizing best available tools, reconcile accounts, including the proper allocation of cash to charges Perform collection calls/action on tenants identified as Unpaid Current, Prior Month, Payment Arrangement and Promissory Note, etc. Maintain comment field in JDE collection module Perform follow-up actions on a timely basis to ensure tenant commitments are met Identify tenant issues and resolve or escalate to Manager in a timely manner Other duties as assigned Qualifications High School diploma or GED required Bachelor's Degree in Accounting 1 year of experience with ERP general ledger (e.g. JD Edwards) Real estate accounting preferred Deadline-focused; organized; problem-solving skills Demonstrated written/oral communication and documentation skills Basic/Intermediate Excel skills Detail oriented Benefit Information Competitive compensation Medical, Dental and Vision beginning day 1 401(k) Company matching 401(k) Vests on Day 1 Career development programs Charitable donation matching Generous Paid Time Off (vacation, personal holidays, paid sick time) Paid Volunteer Hours Paid Parental Leave Family planning assistance including IVF, surrogacy and adoption options Wellness and mental health resources Pet insurance offering Childcare Assistance Commuter benefits A culture on our values of Act with Integrity, Build Mutual Trust, Take Initiative and Win Together.
