About the Vice President of Operations & Finance Civics Unplugged seeks an entrepreneurial minded, mission driven leader to join our team. As a member of the leadership team, this individual will have primary responsibility for the management of all operational functions. The VP of Operations & Finance will ensure internal systems, processes and infrastructure are in place to support the team’s effectiveness in meeting the needs of the CU community. Primary Responsibilities Operations Work closely with the CEO and Chief Program Officer to operationalize strategic priorities Provide leadership across the organization in creating efficient workflows and optimizing internal operations Manage the operational components of all in person programs People and Culture Cultivate an organizational culture that reflects CU’s mission and supports a learning environment that embodies knowledge sharing, feedback, and continuous growth Lead the process of annual and quarterly goal setting for the team and establish a cadence of reviewing, assessing and updating progress Ensure systems and processes for recruitment, onboarding/offboarding, professional development and performance management are in place Finance Responsible for oversight of all Finance activities Manage CU’s accounting firm to ensure accurate, timely financial reporting on monthly/quarterly basis Work with the Board of Directors to provide consistent financial updates to the Board's Finance committee Oversee compliance standards for grants, foundations, and major gift management with the Development Department. Lead the annual budgeting process Support the annual audit process Qualifications 5 plus years in operations and human resource management with proven results in designing and executing annual operations and management plans that motivate team members Skills and proven results in managing a budget of or greater than $2M, forecasting and contingency planning Experience with non-profit accounting and reporting Strong project management skills Proficiency with QuickBooks, Hubspot, Slack, and Excel is mandatory Salary & Benefits $140,000, commensurate with experience Health, Dental, and Vision insurance provided by CU 4 weeks of vacation annually Hybrid/Flexible work environment Private office in Midtown Manhattan in building with amenities To apply, send an email with a cover letter and resume to: vp-ops-and-financecivicsunplugged.org with the subject line “VP of Ops & Finance Application”
