Qualifications: 7 to 10 years' experience. Must be organized and detail oriented, possess a systems background, flexible, able to work independently, good oral and written communication skills, and have worked in a medium to large corporate environment. Public Accounting experience strongly preferred. Understands and is able to apply accounting concepts. Comfortable with and able to utilize computer technology Microsoft Excel (advanced) a strong plus. Demonstrated ability to thrive and respond in a fast-paced environment. Analytical thinking skills Superior working relationship skills - the ability to develop and maintain positive and collaborative relationships. Change leadership - the ability to identify and implement change, complete projects and transformation-related programs across multiple organizations/functions, and the ability to lead a team through these changes. Experience with ERP ledgers systems is preferred (Oracle, Baan, SAP, JDE) CPA strongly preferred. Responsibilities: Position Summary Responsible for assisting in the day-to-day maintenance of a complete and accurate general ledger and in preparing basic financial reports. The individual in this position will work with the CLIENT Controllership team to perform accounting duties including, but not limited to: (i) preparing monthly account reconciliations; (ii) ensuring that the existing accounting processes and policies are carried out as intended; (iii) supporting future systems implementation, (iv) driving process improvement by identifying inefficiencies and proposing viable solutions; and (v) participating in other projects as identified by Controllership management. Must have familiarity with Sarbanes Oxley requirements and assist in maintaining CLIENT's internal control environment. Interact with external and internal auditors on a regular basis. Responsibilities & Qualifications: Prepare reconciliation of basic and complex general ledger accounts monthly including research and resolution of discrepancies. Prepare monthly journal entries and supporting schedules. Communicate effectively with team members from other functional areas as well as external sources. Support the financial reporting team as needed for preparation of the Form 10-Q, 10-K and other filings as needed. Comply with Internal controls and best practices. Initiate process improvements to increase efficiency of financial close and accuracy of financial accounts. Provide information for auditors. Special projects.
