Job Description Job Description _ General Function: _ Responsible for all aspects of network management including but not limited to backup systems, domain controllers, network switches, file servers, virtual environments, wireless networks, web content filtering, cybersecurity, desktop systems and communications hardware/software. _ Education/Training/Experience _ Minimum : Five or more years of relevant experience in Information Technology/Information Systems with a minimum of two years as a network administrator Preferred : Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field and at least 5 to 7 years of network management experience. MCSE certification, CISSP, CCNA, or CCNP certification a plus _ Knowledge/Skills and Abilities :_  Extensive knowledge of Active Directory management  Demonstrates knowledge of the configuration and the management of virtual environments  Demonstrates knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols  Demonstrates knowledge in the configuration and management of wireless networks  Demonstrates knowledge of multiple operating systems including Windows Server 2008 R2 and above, Windows 10 & 7, Chrome OS, Mac OS X versions 10.7 and above.  Demonstrated knowledge of Windows/Windows Server patch management solutions such as Quest KACE  Demonstrates knowledge of MS SQL Server 2008 and above.  Identifies recurring hardware and software problems and recommends plans for prevention and resolution  Ensures data security and availability through proper backup and verification procedures  Demonstrates knowledge of web content filtering solutions  Demonstrates knowledge of Google, Microsoft and Adobe suites.  Demonstrates knowledge of configuring remote access for users.  Demonstrates knowledge of server backup solutions  Demonstrates ability to support networked printers and copiers Santa Fe Public Schools JOB DESCRIPTIONDate Revised: 04/2021  Demonstrates knowledge of current communications devices and protocols, server and desktop technologies.  Demonstrates ability to prioritize multiple projects and tasks effectively. Essential Job Functions Functions are performed in accordance with established policies, procedures, safety and environmental regulations, facility and computer security policies and procedures. Functions are subject to change from time to time to meet the needs of the District. Current essential functions include but are not limited to the following:  Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtual environments  Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes  Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues  Perform regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures  Network administration (including backup, security management, user account management, e-mail systems management, internet access, office systems and applications support).  Supports network, server and desktop hardware, software and applications.  Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Resources Used in Performing Job Include (but are not limited to): Standard network and office equipment including computers, phones, copiers, etc. Automobile to travel to district sites and/or meetings. Physical/Cognitive Requirements: The work is primarily performed in an office and is fairly sedentary. It requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing. The work requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulation. At times bending, squatting, reaching and the ability to lift, carry, push up to 40 pounds. Frequent trips by automobile to district sites and departments is required. _ Environmental Conditions: _ Most work performed in an office setting. Some travel to district and non-district sites. Personal Accountability:  Demonstrates reliability as evidenced by attendance records and punctuality.  Properly notifies supervisor and/or designee of absences or tardiness.  Begins and completes work within the allotted time.  Consistently appears in attire appropriate to the work environment.  Demonstrates proficiency in the use of district equipment and software as needed to complete essential job functions.  Safe guards District resources by adhering to the District’s Responsible use of Technology Resources Agreement for Staff.  Utilizes appropriate body mechanics to aid in the prevention of muscle strain/injury.
