Senior Auditor - Financial Services/Banking

Senior Auditor - Banking NextStep Recruiting is seeking an Internal Auditor with a banking focus to plan and conduct financial and operational audits, including Sarbanes-Oxley testing for our financial services client in downtown Dallas. The role involves developing audit programs to address operational and financial risks, preparing annual risk assessments, and evaluating internal controls for efficiency. You will ensure compliance with federal regulations and internal policies, communicate findings to management, and support external audits as needed. Key Responsibilities: Execute all phases of audit engagements, including planning, fieldwork, and reporting. Analyze audit evidence to assess the effectiveness of controls and compliance systems. Collaborate with stakeholders to finalize audit reports and monitor management follow-ups on findings. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and review specialized areas like BSA/AML and Wealth Management. Maintain professional certifications and commit to ongoing education. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or related field; Master's preferred. 3 years of experience in public accounting or internal audit; financial services experience is a plus. Desired certifications: CPA or CIA. Strong analytical, communication, and PC skills; attention to detail required. Willingness to travel up to 10%.
