This position is a member of the Accounting team and serves as a financial resource for management. This position is responsible for preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, reviewing financial statements, and analyzing financial results. Additionally, this position assists with budgeting and forecasting for select areas and performs special projects as needed. Analyze financial results and explain variances to both budget and prior year benchmarks. Assist management in identifying opportunities for financial improvement and cost reduction. Evaluate revenue and expense trends and report projected results to management. Assist in the compilation of forecasts and financial projections. Assist in the preparation of the annual budget for select areas to include design and management of budget schedules and comparison to current year and prior year activity. Assist in the preparation and review of deliverables requested by senior management as well as for external audits of annual financial statements, employee benefit plans, and external entities for which the Company serves as operator. Examine selected monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and general ledger balances to ensure accuracy, completeness, proper classification, and adequate review. Prepare a summary of findings on a monthly basis. Monitor and enforce compliance with applicable policies and procedures as well as approve Travel and Entertainment expense reports and purchase requisitions for select divisions. Complete special projects and prepare ad-hoc reports and analyses as requested. Supervise, support, and develop Staff Accountants. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: 18 years of age or older Bachelor's degree - Accounting, Business Administration, Financial Management Minimum of 3 years of related accounting/finance experience. Supervisory experience preferred Industry Experience - Financial Services, Hospitality, Public Accounting Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to communicate and advocate accounting positions. Advanced use of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word, and ability to use these tools to create efficiencies. Experience with financial accounting software and reporting tools. Demonstrated analytical skills. Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment and effectively manage multiple priorities with competing deadlines.
