Our challenge The Data Developer will play a pivotal role in supporting Business Intelligence and Reporting initiatives within our organization. This position is responsible for creating data structures for reporting systems and developing data exchanges and integrations across various platforms. An essential aspect of this role is the optimization of both existing and new data processes to enhance efficiency and performance. Additional Information The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within New York, NY is $130k - $145k/year & benefits (see below). The Role Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain data structures for reporting systems to ensure accurate and timely data availability. Create and manage data exchanges and integrations between diverse platforms to facilitate seamless data flow. Optimize existing and new data processes, focusing on performance enhancement and efficiency improvements. Develop, test, and implement stored procedures, functions, and scripts using SQL. Conduct database/query performance optimization, including indexing, query tuning, and troubleshooting performance issues. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and perform source-to-target data mapping exercises. Engage in data warehousing activities, ensuring best practices in data modeling and database design are followed. Develop ETL processes to support data movement and transformation. Document data flows, processes, and system architecture for reference and compliance purposes. Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders, providing updates on project status and challenges. Requirements: You are: Expert knowledge of SQL. Extensive hands-on experience with MS SQL Server or Amazon Redshift platform. Deep understanding of RDBMS concepts. Proven experience in developing stored procedures, functions, and scripts. Expertise in database/query performance optimization, including indexing and query tuning. Strong knowledge of Data Warehousing concepts. Experience in data modeling and database design best practices. Expertise in developing ETL processes to support data movement. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team. It would be great if you also had: Experience working with AWS tools. Familiarity with Business Intelligence (BI) tools. Previous experience in the Financial Services industry is highly advantageous.
