Experience working in State or Federal Government and working knowledge of procurement, contracting, funding, etc. Experience with batch data and real-time stream processing on the Salesforce platform Position Overview The Executive Office of Education (EOE) is seeking an Intermediate Salesforce Developer to add to our application development/support team. This person will be responsible for developing new code and supporting existing code hosted across the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) and the Department of Higher Education (DHE) website properties. This position will work with stakeholders and the development team to design, develop and support Salesforce and related applications using industry standard practices and tools. EOE IT follows a lean/agile development methodology. The ideal candidate should be able to work in all tiers of the architecture and have experience with the SalesForce platform and integrations with external systems, as well as experience with transformation from Salesforce Classic to Lightning. They will also have experience in all phases of software development - design, development, unit testing, QA test support and defect remediation specific to Salesforce platform, as well as experience performing Salesforce admin duties. Responsibilities 1. The Salesforce developer is responsible for collaborating with the EOE/DESE/EEC/DHE Organization, Project Managers, Architect, Business Analysts, and Quality Assurance, in the process of creating software deliverables and artifacts. 2. As a member of the team, you must adhere to the organization's methodologies and standards, and propose improvements based on software development best practices. 3. Perform Salesforce admin duties as needed and related integration platforms development support (enhancements, bug fixes) 4. Participation in efforts including requirements gathering, analysis, design, testing, roll out and documentation creation. 5. Participate in regularly scheduled meetings to discuss current tasks and weekly status reports. Education and Experience Level 1. Minimum of a bachelor's degree with a major in computer science or a related field. 2. Proven record of accomplishment working on large-scale projects with diverse stakeholders and with cross-functional teams. 3. 4 years of experience as a Salesforce Admin and Developer a. Serve as primary system administrator for the Salesforce environment with 100 users. b. Handle all basic administrative functions including user account maintenance, reports and dashboards, workflows, and other routine tasks. c. Experience with programming languages such as SOQL, JavaScript, HTML, Apex, Lightning Web Components, and CSS. experience with batch data and real-time stream processing on the Salesforce platform. d. Experience with Application Development & Configuration including Lightning App Builder, Flows, Validations rules, JavaScript, CSS, and HTML. e. Experienced in developing UI pages using the LWC framework. f. Experience with Salesforce API integration for applications residing on various platforms. Develop and maintain integrations between Salesforce and external systems using REST/SOAP APIs, Middleware, and other integration tools. 4. Platform Developer I Certification is must 5. Preferred Skills: a. Hands-on experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Development (CI/CD) b. Experience working with JIRA, Confluence, and SharePoint c. Experience with SFDC specific IDE and version control configurations (Github, BitBucket) for Salesforce development (VS Code, IntelliJ, SFDX) 6. Experience with accessibility laws and WCAG 2.1 compliance. 7. Experience with Agile development methodologies 8. Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn plus Excellent written/verbal communication & documentation skills. 9. Experience related to K-12 education/curriculum standards would be a plus. 10. Experience with cloud solutions/technologies, specifically AWS, is also a plus. 11. Ability to adjust to changing situations to address emergencies, program changes, or production requirements.
