Job Title: Senior Salesforce Developer Job Location: Everett, MA 02149(Hybrid - 1 Day in a Week Required) Job Type: Long-Term Contract Job Id: BD-25-1036-EDU02-EDU02-104601- 2025ITS77BDTN02 - Senior Salesforce Developer Working Hours: 37.5 hours/Week Client: State of MA/ Executive Office of Education (EOE) Job Description: Position Overview: The Executive Office of Education (EOE) is seeking a Senior Salesforce Developer to add to our application development/support team. This person will be responsible for developing new code and supporting existing code hosted across the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), Department of Early Education and Care (EEC), and the Department of Higher Education (DHE) website properties. This position will work with stakeholders and the development team to design, develop, and support Salesforce and related applications using industry-standard practices and tools. EOE IT follows a lean/agile development methodology. The ideal candidate should be able to work in all tiers of the architecture and have experience with the SalesForce platform and integrations with external systems, as well as experience with transformation from Salesforce Classic to Lightning. They will also have experience in all phases of software development - design, development, unit testing, QA test support, and defect remediation specific to the Salesforce platform, as well as experience performing Salesforce admin duties. Responsibilities: The Salesforce developer is responsible for collaborating with the EOE/DESE/EEC/DHE Organization, Project Managers, Architect, Business Analysts, and Quality Assurance, in the process of creating software deliverables and artifacts. As a senior member of the team, you must adhere to the organization's methodologies and standards, and propose improvements based on software development best practices. Perform Lightning We Component Development and Integration platforms development support (enhancements, bug fixes) Participation in efforts including requirements gathering, analysis, design, testing, roll out, and documentation creation. Participate in regularly scheduled meetings to discuss current tasks and weekly status reports. Education and Experience Level: Minimum of a bachelor's degree with a major in computer science or a related field. Proven record of accomplishment working on large-scale projects with diverse stakeholders and with cross-functional teams. 6 years of experience as a Salesforce Developer Handle the development of new business requirements using Lightning Web Components, Lightning Flows, Apex Batches, and Triggers, reports and dashboards, workflows, and other solutions. Experience with programming languages such as SOQL, JavaScript, HTML, Apex, Lightning Web Components, and CSS. experience with batch data and real-time stream processing on the Salesforce platform. Experience with Application Development & Configuration including Lightning App Builder, Flows, Validations rules, JavaScript, CSS, and HTML. Expertise in developing UI pages using the LWC framework. Experience with complex Salesforce API integration for applications residing on various platforms. Develop and maintain integrations between Salesforce and external systems using REST/SOAP APIs, Middleware, and other integration tools. Implemented Async processing solutions with Platform events, Async Apex, Queueable Apex, CDC, Lightning Message Service, etc. Extensive understanding of Salesforce Experience Cloud (Communities) development and customization. Collaborate with junior developers to perform code reviews and provide feedback. Create and maintain technical documentation including process documentation, naming and commenting conventions, and Salesforce policies/procedures. Mentor and provide guidance to the development team members. Platform Developer I Certification is a must Experience with accessibility laws and WCAG 2.1 compliance. Experience with Agile development methodologies Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn plus Excellent written/verbal communication & documentation skills. Experience related to K-12 education/curriculum standards would be a plus. Experience with cloud solutions/technologies, specifically AWS, is also a plus. Ability to adjust to changing situations to address emergencies, program changes, or production requirements. Preferred Skills: Hands-on experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Development (CI/CD) Experience working with JIRA, Confluence, and SharePoint Experience with SFDC-specific IDE and version control configurations (Github, BitBucket) for Salesforce development (VS Code, IntelliJ, SFDX)
