www.cypresscreekhospital.com We currently have an opportunity for a Director of Plant Operations/Safety Officer. The Director of Plant Operations is responsible for the development, organization and management of the facility and grounds including Maintenance, Housekeeping and Safety. The Director of Plant Operations ensures duties are performed in a systematic and timely manner in accordance with hospital policies and procedures and applicable regulatory/accreditation rules and guidelines resulting in a well-maintained and patient/employee safe behavioral healthcare facility. Job Duties/Responsibilities: Supervise/provide leadership for assigned staff. Conduct on-going staff training for improved performance, safety, and expanded duties. Maintain and update preventive maintenance schedule for all routine maintenance. Assign and schedule work assignments for all routine maintenance. Develop/monitor safety procedures within the hospital and ensure compliance with all OSHA, Joint Commission, local, state, and federal requirements. Ensure compliance with all TJC Life Safety standards. Ensure all Life Safety/environmental inspections are conducted according to Joint Commission and regulatory standards (fire, boiler, electrical and gas line inspections, etc.). Identify any safety hazards. Correct all deficiencies/hazards noted in inspections and report problem-solving plan to CEO/CFO. Serve as hospital Safety Officer and chair the Safety/EOC Committee. Coordinate with department manager all department/hospital safety plans. Conduct hospital-wide safety training. Coordinate fire alarm system inspections. Correct any noted deficiencies. Conduct fire drills to ensure safety and preparedness according to regulatory requirements. Develop and maintain a priority system for response to service requests. Ensure maintenance/housekeeping respond in a timely manner. Assign staff to expedite completion of service requests. Plan/coordinate completion of all non-routine plant management projects. Secure competitive bids for contract projects and obtain all necessary permits for needed projects. Coordinate with contractors to effectively plan projects to be least disruptive to operations. Monitor work of all contract projects to ensure quality and identify/correct potential risk management issues. Authorize purchases of tools/materials needed. Maintain inventory of supplies and tools. Oversee use of supplies to maximize effectiveness and to meet patient needs. Monitor budget expenses to ensure compliance. Monitor, maintain and improve quality standards through audits, surveys, checks and inspections. Submit all required monthly/quarterly/annual reports in a timely manner. Attend all required meetings. Handle complaints/dissatisfaction according to policy and procedures. Establish ongoing mechanisms for feedback regarding quality of plant operations practices. Actively participate in hospital Performance Improvement initiatives. Work effectively with other employees, patients, and outside parties. Maintain/update hazardous material plan annually. Work in a detail-oriented manner. Multi-task, prioritize work/projects and manage time. Complete other duties as assigned. Maintain absenteeism within hospital guidelines. Follow hospital/department procedures for planned/unplanned leave. Follow infection control policies and universal precautions. Maintain required annual training requirements (UHS HealthStream).
