Job Description:
Seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with 8+ years of technical experience to become an integral member of the engineering team dedicated to the development of military-grade electronics the Common Weapon Launcher (CWL) system.
Duties and Responsibilities
Analyze and design AC-DC and DC-DC power systems and power control Integrate, test, troubleshoot, and verify electrical hardware Develop test criteria and assist in the design of test systems Perform component and architecture trade studies to determine optimal system solutions to design hardware and electronics based on commercial and industry components and technologies Design cable assemblies Develop new electronics in the form of PCB designs and corresponding tests Develop technical presentations, recommendations, and written communications to explain technical issues to program management and the Navy customer Generate design and interface documentation
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience with the engineering development life cycle, including concept, requirements, design, implementation, and test phases Experience with MIL-STD-1399 and MIL-STD-461 design and qualification Experience with design and debug of switch mode DC-DC converters including knowledge of control loop stability analysis Experience with design and debug of 3-phase AC-DC conversion including transformer design Working knowledge of common communication interfaces such as RS-422, RS-485, and LVDS Experience in analog and digital circuit design Experience with lab equipment including signal generators, high speed oscilloscopes, power analyzers Proficiency in all phases of PCB design, including creation of high-level functional diagrams, SPICE analysis, power analysis, component selection, schematic entry, and working with the PCB layout team to optimize placement, signal integrity, fitment, etc. Strong documentation and communication skills OrCAD Capture experience a plus Experience with firmware or microcontrollers a plus Experience with VHDL/Verilog a plus
