Project Summary:
MSI’s Business Development team oversees all of MSI’s new business efforts, which includes developing and overseeing the proposals MSI submits to win new projects mostly with USAID, but also a few additional donors.
Position Summary:
The Business Development (BD) Intern will provide support on a variety of different avenues. This role will cover a large variety of functions including research, recruitment support, and overall administrative functions to support the department. This internship will require a minimum commitment of 25 hours per week with a flexible schedule and is presently remote. This is a paid position, and we anticipate the candidate starting soonest after presenting an offer. The required location for this role is in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan (DMV) area.
Responsibilities:
Support the Opportunity Managers with proposal preparation and development.
Provide administrative support through note taking, completing research, and developing proposal documents.
Support long term and short-term proposal efforts both in capture and live proposals.
Post job descriptions on internal and external websites.
Assist with recruitment for international jobs and proposals by arranging interviews, corresponding with candidates, and helping coordinate reference checks.
Manage and update recruitment database.
Format, write, and edit CVs.
Respond to general inquiries about MSI and our business development team.
Provide additional support to the business development unit as needed.
Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program required. Completion of Bachelor's degree preferred.
Minimum one year of relative experience preferred.
Professional demeanor and communication skills, especially via email and by phone.
Attention to detail and ability to prioritize within a multi-tasking environment.
Strong organizational skills.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn new software programs quickly, strong background in Microsoft Excel preferred.
Fluency in English, both written and verbal, required. Proficiency in a second language preferred.
Pay Transparency Statement:
The compensation for our internship program is $17.50 per hour.
