Organization: Burn Center 30 Job Summary: Assist with the delivery of patient care and maintenance of unit environmental standards under the supervision of a licensed nurse. Shift: Full-Time Night Shift - 6:45 pm - 7:15 am, three 12-hour shifts per week. All shifts rotate throughout the week, including weekends and holidays. Care Partner Position Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent experience)

AND

one of the following: Current enrollment in a program of professional nursing RN

and successful completion of the first semester of nursing school to include nursing fundamentals clinical , or Graduation from a Nursing Assistant or Aide Training Program within the past year (the certification is not mandatory but a certificate of completion is necessary), or Minimum of one year of previous (and within the past two years) experience as a care partner or nursing assistant/patient care technician. Hospital and/or acute care experience preferred. Sign-On Bonus Details and Requirements: $5,000 sign-on bonus. The sign-on bonus is not applicable to current VUMC staff or former staff who have worked for VUMC in the past twelve months. The sign-on bonus is only available for full-time positions. Department/Unit Summary: The Vanderbilt Burn Center offers world-class care to burn patients of all ages. Our team is committed to the burn population by providing both physical and emotional support for patients and their families from the acute phase of care through discharge and beyond. Our team of staff members are welcoming, fun, team-oriented, and committed to the care provided to our patients. The Burn Center is a 23-bed unit: 8 beds are dedicated to intensive care. The remaining 15 are used for either acute care or intensive care. Our unit specializes in caring for a diverse patient population with complex issues in a designated Level 1 burn center that cares for patients from over a 600-mile radius. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist with the delivery of patient care and maintenance of unit environmental standards under the supervision of a licensed nurse. Assists with day-to-day delivery of patient care. Facilitates efficient and safe patient care and flow by following work area standards. Serves as a liaison for communication and education of patient and family needs. Supports unit operations and patient flow by maintaining supplies, equipment and unit environmental standards. TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES: Care Partner Patient Documentation (Fundamental Awareness): Has limited experience or training working with clinical applications for patient documentation. Environment of Care (Fundamental Awareness): Has limited experience or training working with set up and maintenance of patient exam rooms, supplies and equipment. Clinical Competencies (Novice): Demonstrates sufficient fundamental proficiency to assist and perform clinical care including but not limited to vital signs, phlebotomy, specimen collection, medication administration and point of care testing as directed by unit standards. Planning & Organizing (Fundamental Awareness): Demonstrates ability to anticipate basic resource needs, identify discrete tasks, set priorities, define dependencies, schedule activities, meet deadlines, and organize work for own assignments and responsibilities.
