Your Role As an Elder Abuse Attorney at J&Y, you will play a critical role in representing clients who have been victims of elder abuse and personal injury. You will have the opportunity to work on high-impact cases while making a real difference in the lives of the elderly and vulnerable. Your key responsibilities will include: Litigation: Represent clients in trials, arbitrations, mediations, and depositions related to elder abuse and personal injury claims. Case Management: Handle a caseload from inception to resolution, including the preparation of pleadings, motions, discovery, and trial preparation. Client Interaction: Communicate with clients, providing updates and maintaining a compassionate, client-centered approach throughout the litigation process. Team Collaboration: Work closely with paralegals, legal assistants, and other attorneys to ensure effective case management and coordination. Legal Research & Strategy: Conduct legal research and analysis, stay up to date with elder abuse law, and help craft winning legal strategies. Who We’re Looking For Our ideal candidate will have: 5 years of experience in Elder Abuse and Personal Injury law, with a proven track record in complex litigation. Admission to the California State Bar. Extensive trial experience and the ability to manage all aspects of litigation from discovery through trial. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment. Compassionate, client-focused approach, with a passion for fighting for the rights of vulnerable individuals. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to clearly articulate complex legal concepts. Ability to travel throughout California for court hearings, depositions, trials, and arbitrations as needed. Detail-oriented with the ability to adhere to strict deadlines. Team player who thrives in a collaborative environment. Bonus Qualifications Experience handling Elder Abuse cases with a focus on nursing home abuse, physical abuse, financial exploitation, and neglect. Fluency in a second language, particularly Spanish, is a plus. Leadership skills, with a desire to mentor and guide junior attorneys or staff.
