Position Type: Auxiliary Services/Carpenter Date Posted: 8/28/2024 Location: Facilities Under limited supervision, the Carpenter will perform all levels of carpentry, building and repair of structures and other items, with an emphasis on finished work. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 1. Determines type of materials needed, quantities, and requests materials projected to be needed. 2. Develops job plans from blueprints, construction drawings, or rough sketches. 3. Ensures the accuracy of work by checking completed projects with tools such as levels, surveying equipment, or framing squares; corrects problems as needed. 4. Follows established environmental, safety, and health rules and regulations DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Accurately maintain records, as required by state or federal laws, and Union County Board of Education policies, and/or school-based requests, and adhere to confidentiality requirements of state and federal law. 2. Document work order requests with appropriate information regarding time, materials and resolution. 3. Shape or cut materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines or powered equipment. 4. Measures, marks, and arranges materials to established layout based on blueprints or instructions from supervisors. 5. Joins materials with the most appropriate nail, screw, staple, or adhesive. 6. Installs and repairs glass, as needed. 7. Effectively communicates with internal stakeholders to schedule repairs and or replacement of structures, etc. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent ?
