Job Title: Chemistry Litigation Attorney
Job Overview: A leading law firm in Washington, DC, is seeking a skilled attorney with a focus on Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) litigation. The ideal candidate will bring 5-10 years of legal expertise, coupled with a background in chemistry or a related scientific discipline. This role requires exceptional analytical capabilities, persuasive communication skills, and an unwavering commitment to delivering legal excellence. Duties:
Represent clients in ANDA-related litigation, including drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery responses. Develop and execute comprehensive litigation strategies tailored to client objectives. Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis on patent issues related to pharmaceuticals. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including experts and co-counsel, to build robust cases. Handle pretrial preparation, including depositions, expert witness examinations, and trial advocacy. Maintain client relationships by providing strategic advice and clear communication. Stay updated on regulatory changes and case law developments in pharmaceutical patent litigation. Requirements:
5-10 years of experience in patent litigation, with an emphasis on ANDA matters. Proven track record in courtroom advocacy and managing complex cases. Strong academic background demonstrating intellectual rigor and legal acumen. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify technical information for diverse audiences. Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. An undergraduate or advanced degree in chemistry, biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline (preferred). Certifications:
Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction. Admission to the Washington, DC Bar (or eligibility for admission). Skills:
Deep understanding of pharmaceutical patents and Hatch-Waxman litigation. Advanced research and analytical abilities for handling intricate legal and technical issues. Outstanding organizational skills to manage multiple deadlines and priorities. The team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
