Axos Bank is looking for a Vice President of Marketing Strategy, Campaigns to drive marketing programs for the Consumer Bank. The ideal candidate has deep experience leading omni-channel marketing campaigns across multiple retail banking lines of business. This includes a high degree of comfort leveraging complex data sets to generate campaign concepts, projections, and results reporting.
Reporting to the FVP, Consumer Marketing Strategy, this senior-level position will collaborate heavily across marketing, business, product management, martech/centers of excellence, and data analytics. Depending on experience and the needs of the department, direct management of team members may be included in the role.
Responsibilities:
Working with marketing and business unit leadership, contribute heavily to the annual consumer marketing strategic plan and program calendar, prioritizing initiatives that will have the largest impact on primary KPIs. Develop strategic program, product, and business briefs that set the stage for campaign execution by a team of supporting project specialists, writers, designers, analysts, and channel partners. Move campaigns from initial roll-out through the test-and-learn phase and, if successful, into ongoing time-based and triggered automated communications (journeys). Conduct ongoing internal and external research on product benefits, macro-economic and industry forces, and the competitive landscape to generate marketing programs that address customer needs and pain points. Generate ideas and business cases for new bonus/incentive/product frameworks with a focus on lifetime value over short-term production gains. Ensure supporting marketing tactics, channels, budget, and creative align with stated objectives and target audiences. Become a subject matter expert on all first- and third-party data sources available for research, segmentation, reporting, and analysis. Suggest new sources when applicable. Select, monitor, and adjust key target audiences to maximize response and overall share of wallet. This includes working with supporting teams to develop and leverage net-of-control methodologies, machine learning, and propensity modeling. Regularly report business strategy updates and campaign/test results to the broader marketing and business teams. Keep detailed records of activities, impact, and next steps to inform future initiatives. As needed, draft audience-specific “pitch” content to inform creative execution for clarity of message and speed to market. Seek opportunities for personalization in content. Identify and communicate opportunities for product and positioning adjustments to the broader marketing team, business, and product management. Understand, adhere to, and act as subject matter expert for regulatory and compliance guidelines, including Fair Lending/Reg Z, UDAAP, Reg DD, and others. Lead special projects and other marketing initiatives as assigned.
Requirements:
10+ years of experience in a strategic marketing role with a proven track record of developing, executing, testing, and reporting on multi-channel marketing campaigns. Retail financial services experience, either for personal banking or small/medium enterprise (business) banking. High degree of comfort and experience in requesting and analyzing complex data sets for the purpose of audience segmentation, campaign results reporting, and customer lifecycle/vintage KPIs. Demonstrated self-starter with ability to concurrently manage multiple campaigns across several lines of business. Highly organized, analytical, and detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize work demands that have frequently changing priorities and deadlines. Exceptional written and oral communications abilities, including high comfort level in presenting to executive audiences. Experience with CRM and Marketing Automation tools and frameworks (Salesforce, Marketing Cloud, and Interaction Studio specifically are a plus). Knowledge of digital reporting tools (Google Analytics, UTM tracking, Tableau/dashboards). Efficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point, Visio).
