Overview VTG is seeking a Senior Project Accountant in Chantilly, VA (Headquarters). The Senior Project Accountant is responsible setting up projects in Deltek Costpoint, perform contract closeouts, and invoice generation. This is a hybrid position, requiring two days each week in the office and three days each week in a remote capacity. What will you do? Calculate invoices using Deltek Costpoint’s billing functionality Submit invoices to the customer. Invoices are typically submitted via the customer's website. Submissions through the government's Wide Area Workflow tool (WAWF) and the GSA website are the most common. Calculate and submit retroactive billing for closed audit years Reconciles unbilled receivable and other AR accounts, troubleshoots and resolves out of balance accounts Perform a detailed analysis and reconciliation of billed amounts versus recorded revenue Support audit requests by DCAA, external public auditors, and internal audit as necessary Maintain detailed, well-organized billing files to facilitate smooth audits, contract close-outs, and reconciliations. Prepare schedules that support customer driven reporting requirements. Ability to prioritize work, multi-task and handle multiply priorities simultaneously with limited supervision. Set up current projects as necessary to include; entering modifications, contract ceilings, workforce, rates, etc. Assists with troubleshooting billing/system problems. Assists with development and review of billing formats. Assists with collection. Other duties as assigned. Do you have what it takes? Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) license or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is preferred Five years of accounting experience and billing experience utilizing Deltek CostPoint. Must be able to work effectively as a team. Contract Closeout experience preferred. Must have Project Set-up experience. Must have retroactive billing experience. Must have experience in government contracting. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Strong attention to detail. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Ability to communicate effectively with key stakeholders across functional boundaries (contracts, accounting, audit, DCAA, etc.).
