Job Summary:
The Senior Cost Accountant/ Costpoint Administrator understands the organization and the operations of the Company. This position assumes assigned responsibilities; interprets and applies company policies, procedures, and rules; classifies data according to prescribed accounting systems; posts and balances journal and ledgers; performs multiple tasks that are subject to periodic interruptions; prepares, maintains, and reconciles various complex financial accounts. The Senior Cost Accountant/ Costpoint Administrator must have previous experience in Deltek Costpoint Administration and Government Contractor Cost Accounting.
Duties and Responsibilities:Maintain the Costpoint accounting system as the System Administrator. Configure and manage day-to-day operations in Deltek Costpoint modules including Project Accounting, Time & Expense and Business Intelligence.Implement Costpoint Project Control, Setup, and Maintenance.Stay updated on Deltek product updates, patches, and new features, evaluating their potential impact, and recommending appropriate actions.Enter new project information into Costpoint and apply to appropriate Work Breakdown Structure.Assist employees with Costpoint questions regarding system access, timesheets, and expense reports.Perform review of contract information to determine appropriate project setup in Costpoint to facilitate labor, expense, billing, revenue.Lead the Accounting month-end close cycles, all journal entries, including reconciliations and prepare financial statements.Prepare Estimate at Completion/Estimate to Complete analysis, reporting of inception to date costs, contract costs, billing, and progress payments, and revenue recognition in Costpoint.Audit timesheets, leave accruals and balances, troubleshoot employee timesheets, process special checks and regular payroll runs, create upload file to transmit payroll file to ADP, run the payroll system month-end processes, analyze outputs, troubleshoot discrepancies, and upload the files into the general ledger system.Process all labor distribution reclassification/adjustment journals.Run the labor and fringe benefits, analyze outputs, make necessary changes, and upload into the general ledger system. Reconcile account balances and resolve all problems.Assist with preparation and submission of Model Incurred Cost Proposal model.Serve as a liaison with external auditors and regulatory authorities.Mentor accounting staff, promote best practice and compliance.Perform additional responsibilities, ad-hoc reporting, and analysis as requested or assignedQualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting required. Certified Public Accountant (CPA), preferred.Minimum 7 years of experience in the Government Contractor industry.Knowledge of Cost Accounting Standards and Federal Acquisition Regulation rules and regulations.Knowledge and facility with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.Proficient with Microsoft Office including Excel (advanced), Costpoint Time and Expense, Costpoint accounting software, Costpoint Enterprise Reporting.Expertise in Deltek Costpoint (version 8) with ability to support company users.
