At GCI, we solve the hard problems. As a Senior Accounting Director, a typical day will include the following duties:

The Director will manage a staff of 7 employees who are responsible for the areas of General Ledger, Billing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Audit, and Cash Management. This position also requires experience with the completion of an annual Incurred Cost Submission and interactions with corporate and customer audit teams. Candidates must be a results-oriented team player with strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to work independently. Demonstrated ability to brief GCI and parent company management a must.

Specific areas of focus and responsibility include the following:

Oversee the preparation of reports and statistics reflecting earnings, fixed assets, cash balances and other financial resultsEnsures compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other government regulations (ex: Federal Acquisition Regulations – FAR)Serves as a primary point of contact for both internal and external auditorsOversee the development of monthly financial reports and coordinates submission with the parent companyProvides accurate and timely financial information to senior managementMaintains current knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, policies, and proceduresEnsures compliance with GCI and parent company financial policiesServe as a leader and mentor to support growth and career development/progression of direct reports

REQUIRED:

Candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.

Candidate will possess 8+ years of work experience in a government accounting environment.

Have extensive experience with Deltek Costpoint and be solid in the use of Microsoft Office products.

Experience with the Deltek Vision accounting system.

DESIRED/PREFERRED:

Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

Government clearance preferred.
