Description I) Job Purpose The IT Asset Management Specialist is responsible for managing the agency's IT Assets, both hardware and software throughout their lifecycle. Duties include acquiring, maintaining, assigning, and disposing of IT assets. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining the location, assignment, and reconciliation of all IT assets, and establish a comprehensive asset management strategy, including compliance with policies, cost-effectiveness, and efficient asset utilization. II) Essential Functions A) Maintain an accurate inventory of all IT assets, including hardware, software, licenses, and warranties. B) Oversee asset lifecycle, from acquisition to disposal, including upgrades, replacements, and retirements. C) Monitor software licenses, track usage, and ensure compliance with licensing agreements and efficient utilization. D) Maintains and updates the IT asset management system with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy to include assignee and location. E) Responsible for securing unassigned IT inventory. F) Produces asset reports to IT and business stakeholders for various purposes such as costing, monthly charge outs, analysis and procurement decision making purposes. G) Active participant in IT Asset deployments and refresh (PC, cellphone, printer, etc.) H) Assist with agency annual IT inventory validation. III) Knowledge of Laws, Regulations, Policies/Procedures, Skills, and Abilities A) Ability to maintain accurate records and track asset details. B) Analytical Thinking: Evaluate asset data, identify trends, and make informed decisions. C) Effective oral and written communication with stakeholders, vendors, and team members. D) Familiarity with asset management principles and processes, tools, software licensing, and IT infrastructure. E) Problem-Solving: Address asset-related challenges and optimize asset utilization. F) Highly self-motivated and self-directed G) Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) H) Collaborative team player I) Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. IV) Internal & External Customer Service A) This position requires extensive internal and external contacts. The employee will accomplish this with advanced written and verbal skills. B) Must demonstrate, compassion, trauma-informed care, and safety practices including suicide safe care. V) Travel A) Adhere to MHMR Mileage and Travel reimbursement policy and any other aspect regarding travel. B) This position requires some travel to MHMR facilities. VI) Equipment Used A) Utilized as required for position. Minimum Requirements VII) Minimum Qualifications A) Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree B) Defined Education: Information Technology or Business-related field C) Preferences: IT Asset Management certification preferred D) Substitutions: Associate Degree and Three (3) years' experience; High School Diploma/GED and Five (5) years' experience E) Years' Experience: One (1) year F) Defined Experience: IT Asset Management or a related role G) License/Certifications: None H) Special Courses: None I) Supervisory Experience: None VIII) Agency Requirements A) All staff are required to participate in agency Emergency Preparedness and Environmental Safety programs and may be assigned by their department as a key/essential staff level function during critical events or for the purpose of sustaining business continuity. B) This position may require temporary or permanent re-assignment to any MHMR Tarrant facility as determined by program needs and/or the Division/Director. C) Assigned work hours may change as the needs of the agency change. D) The Functional Title of this position may change as the needs of the agency change. E) All work will be completed within the scheduled work hours. All non-exempt (hourly) employees are expected to clock in and clock out for each work shift, no work should be done off the clock. F) MHMR reserves the right to change, add to or eliminate positions as it deems appropriate. G) Employment is at will, as well as agency needs may change.
