Job Description: We are seeking a proactive and motivated Junior Linux Administrator with 3-5 years of hands-on experience to join our dynamic infrastructure operations team. The ideal candidate will be a quick learner, adaptable to new technologies, and passionate about automating tasks to enhance operational efficiency. You will be responsible for maintaining, upgrading, and patching Linux-based systems, with a strong focus on automation through scripting and ensuring seamless coordination with the developers, testers, and other supporting teams. In addition to technical skills, the ideal candidate must have a customer-focused mindset, aiming to create value for both internal and external stakeholders by ensuring system reliability, enhancing service delivery, and contributing to business continuity. In this role, you will collaborate with the development, Testing, and other support groups to ensure the smooth rollout of patches and updates across multiple environments, ensuring minimal disruption to applications/services. Key Responsibilities: Linux Systems Management: Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu), ensuring optimal performance, availability, and security. System Upgrades, Patching, and Vulnerability Mitigation: Keep systems up to date by applying the latest patches, upgrades, and security fixes, monitor for vulnerabilities, and mitigate risks. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure these updates and vulnerability fixes are tested and deployed successfully across environments. Automation and Scripting: Develop and maintain automation scripts using Shell, Ansible, or other automation tools to roll out patches and upgrades, streamline system administration tasks, and avoid manual work. Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work effectively with team members, development, Testing, and other support teams to ensure successful rollout of patches, updates, and upgrades across various environments, minimizing downtime and ensuring environment stability. Security: Implement and maintain security best practices and integrate security in all scripting, maintenance, and administration tasks working in a highly secured environment. Proper handling of passwords, end-to-end encryption, and 1005 compliance with security policies and best practices. Backup and Recovery: Set up, manage, and test backup and disaster recovery systems. Ensure backups are performed on regularly, and test the recoverability of the backup images. Customer Focused: Ensure system reliability, performance, and automation efforts directly contribute to improved service delivery and customer satisfaction. Problem Resolution: Passionate about problem-solving and quickly/efficiently resolving system issues, minimizing downtime, and maintaining service availability. Networking, Monitoring, and Communication skills: Basic knowledge of network protocols, configuration, and troubleshooting (TCP/IP, HTTPS, DNS, DHCP, etc.). Familiarity with system monitoring tools. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Good to have but not required: Experience with SonarQube, IQ scans, and vulnerability management Experience troubleshooting HTTPS, firewalls, web servers, proxy servers, etc. Linux certifications (like RHCSA and RHCE) are a big plus. Knowledgeable about security concepts: TLS, JWT, OAuth, CyberArk, vulnerabilities remediations.
