THE ROLE: We are looking for a talented and versatile front-end web developer with a strong understanding of WordPress to join our global marketing team. Advanced-level knowledge of HTML, CSS, PHP and JavaScript/JQuery is a must. To be successful, you must thrive in a fun, fast-paced environment and move easily between tasks such as developing the front-end of our WordPress platform, templates in our Market platform, miscellaneous microsites that support the business and more. This role will own the front-end WordPress development of our corporate website and microsites and assist in the development of our marketing automation, digital asset management, sales enablement and CRM tools. You will bridge the gap between graphical design and technical implementation, taking an active role on both sides by helping to design how the tools look as well as how they work. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Developing new user-facing features and experiences in WordPress for Sensus.com, our dynamic, highly customized, multilingual corporate website Assisting in the management and development of other WordPress microsites for marketing Supporting a suite of digital marketing tools, including Marketo,WebDAM, Folloze and Salesforce Coding modular HTML email communications and responsive landing pages/templates in Marketo that conform to brand guidelines and functional specifications Proactively researching, scoping and presenting new ideas to improve our online reach, form conversions, and/or web experiences for prospects, leads, customers, distributors and the general public Effectively and professionally collaborating with marketing teammates, management, and other project stakeholders Capturing requirements and translating them into clean, semantic code Developing custom web applications that drive business processes Building reusable code and libraries for future use Ensuring the technical feasibility and responsiveness of UI/UX designs Optimizing tools for maximum speed and scalability Assuring that all user input is validated before submitting to back-end MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 3 years’ experience with HTML, HTML5, CSS, CSS3 and PHP with experience building scalable web applications using open source technology Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery Solid understanding of email marketing best practices Basic understanding of server-side CSS preprocessors, such as LESS and SASS Development of responsive designs for superior user experiences on mobile, tablet, laptop and desktop Disciplined approach to testing and quality assurance Curiosity and interest in keeping up-to-date with the latest trends in design, agile methodology, and user experience and web landing pages using mockups as guides. Adobe Creative Suite (especially Photoshop) Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them. Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as GitHub Good understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX Good understanding of SEO optimization, keyword and metadata tag management Excellent communication and collaboration PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: In-house marketing or agency environment WordPress, Marketo, WebDAM and Salesforce digital tools Development of global, multilingual websites Susy grid framework Vue, React, or Angular web frameworks Material design frameworks (Materialize or others) An active interest in conversion rate optimization (CRO) through UX & design, A/B and multivariate testing Email testing using Litmus Strong work ethic, capable of hitting daily deadlines Able to organize and run meetings, leaving with clear objectives and tasks Detail-oriented in the context of a fast-paced environment Pleasant, personable demeanor with strong interpersonal skills Keen ability to multi-task; self-starter Interest in marketing analytics Capable planner A strong vocabulary Teachable spirit Sense of humor PHYSICAL DEMANDS: (The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
