General Purpose
Responsible for leadership and supervision of Student Services including academic advising, ADA accommodations, admissions, assessment, basic needs (CARES), career advisement, cashier, graduation, recruiting, registrar, student enrollment, and Veterans Affairs. Coordinates and provides outreach with student sponsors, community agencies, and academic partners to support student success. Responsible for implementation of best practices, processes and research in student admissions, retention, and completion. Job Focus
Ensure high-quality student services, including academic advisement, assessment, new student enrollment, schedule changes, cashiering, grievances, ADA accommodations, Title IX, and veteran's services.
Builds relationships with internal and external partners
Manage institutional accreditation compliance with Student Services regulations and criteria.
Oversee student enrollment, scheduling, graduation, student advocacy and disciplinary action, and accuracy and currency of student records.
Perform day-to-day supervision of Student Services Department staff. Conduct performance evaluations for all Student Services staff; determine performance factors, establish goals, assure monitoring, formative, and summative evaluations are completed.
Oversees the student grievance process to ensure it is fair and follows policy
Responsible for the development of Student Services policies, procedures, evaluations, and reports, including those relating to student admissions, student records, student accommodation, and the management of student issues.
Responsible for the development of a student orientation to acquaint new students with policies, personnel, and services provided by the institution.
Oversee major events to include career fair, wellness fair, open house, senior stay week, transfer fair, ninth grade day, etc.
Sets goals and outlines achievement of goals for Student Services areas; defines roles and responsibilities based on the evaluation of the effectiveness of Student Services; utilizes results to improve Student Services; and disseminates results.
Coordinates and provides outreach with student sponsors, community agencies, and academic partners to support student success.
Provide training to faculty and directors on services available to students and faculty, student policies, due process, confidentiality of student information, and legal responsibilities relating to students.
Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field required.
A minimum of eight (8) years experience within student services enrollment management related field such as academic advising, admissions, registrars, career/employment advising, and management required.
A minimum of five (5) years supervisory/leadership experience required.
Requires working knowledge of technical education, student information systems, career counseling, ADA, federal and state records requirements, supervision, data-driven decision making and budgeting, proven experience managing a team is essential.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
Must be flexible, able to manage multiple tasks and priorities, and have proven ability to use technology systems to develop effective organizational processes.
Strategic Enrollment Planning experience preferred.
Must be able to deal effectively with stress caused by workload and deadlines. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Generally light office work
Ability to perform repetitive movements with hands, sitting, standing, walking short distances frequently PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Master's degree.
