Closing Date: 09/16/2024 District 91 is seeking qualified individuals to serve as a substitute bus driver / assistant in our transportation department.
POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE: Sub Bus Driver / Assistant
RESPONSIBLE TO: Bus Driver & Lead Bus Driver
QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma. Valid CDL license with passenger endorsement and school bus permit required; required to pass a background check and comply with all required state testing applicable to school bus drivers.
POSITION GOAL: Assist students with diverse needs with boarding onto and debussing from the school bus
PERFORMANCE RESPONSBILITIES SUB DRIVER:
Safely transport students on a defined route on a strict time schedule Safely transport students and staff to athletic events and field trips Regulate heating, lighting and ventilation for passenger comfort while in transit Enforce the school district's behavior management system for student behavior Ensure passenger safety at all times Prepare a variety of daily reports in a timely manner Perform basic daily maintenance of vehicle Comply with traffic regulations in order to operate vehicle in a safe and courteous manner Any other duties as assigned by Lead Bus Driver or Asst. Supt. of Operations PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES SUB ASSISTANT: Assist wth the safe boarding and debussing of students on and off of the bus(es) Assist safe entry and exit of students with wheelchairs onto the wheelchai lift Assist with cleaning the bus(es) as needed Report to morning pick-up location as determined by the district office Assist students with seat buckles as needed Model and communicate safe bus-riding behavior to students Assist with student behavior management as directed Perform other duties as assigned
WORK SCHEDULE: 6:30 - 8:30 am and 2:00 - 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday
Pay is $29.91 an hour for sub bus drivers and $21.53 an hour for sub bus assistants. Sub bus drivers and sub bus assistants are guarrentied at least 4 hours per day.
