SUMMARY
Ensures customer retention and the profitability of the profit center by recruiting qualified sales personnel while assuming responsibility for appraising, purchasing, wholesaling, reconditioning, displaying, and merchandising the used vehicle inventory.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Essential duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Forecasts goals and objectives for sales. Motivates, counsels, and monitors the performance of all sales employees. Prepares and administers an annual operating forecast and budget for the used vehicle sales department. Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations that affect used-vehicle sales. Assists individual salespeople in setting aggressive yet realistic monthly goals and objectives and supports them to meet these goals. Develop, implement, and monitor the prospecting and sales control system to ensure proper follow-up of all potential buyers. Appraises all incoming used vehicles and manages used vehicle inventory. Monitors customers' likes and dislikes, lost sales, and dealership sales history and conducts local market analyses to determine which vehicles to stock. Conducts daily and weekly sales and sales training meetings. Establishes and enforces product-knowledge standards. Oversees vehicle salespeople's efforts to enhance the dealership's image and customer satisfaction ratings. Communicates daily with the general sales manager regarding units in inventory. Ensures salespeople know all used-vehicle inventory and current advertising efforts, including special sales. Ensures that cosmetic and mechanical reconditioning is performed within the dealership's cost and time limitations. Plans and controls the display of used vehicles. Assists in the development of advertising campaigns and other promotions. Continually monitors inventory, age, turn, profitability, and condition. Manages wholesale efforts. Approves all paperwork from auctions and provides proper documentation to the office for purchases. Approves and oversees any after-sales issues apprising on preowned vehicles. Develop a plan of action to move all pre-owned vehicles within 60 turn policy e.g., wholesale, retail, auction, etc. Qualifications
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Excellent Leadership Skills with a willingness to take a high performing business to the next level. Capable of managing diverse sales force; understand and effectuate human resources concerns; and has strong interpersonal communication skills. Adheres to all company policies, procedures, and safety standards. Must have or be qualified to obtain an Ohio Sales License. Must maintain a professional appearance. Must have a strong background or affinity for mathematics. Must have excellent computer skills. Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information. Must be able to type. Must have a valid drivers license with a company acceptable driving record
EDUCATION
High School Diploma and a college degree or equivalent business/sales experience.
EXPERIENCE
A minimum of 2 years previous experience as a General Sales Manager. Experience with Vin Solutions, CDK Dealer Services and V-Auto a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to stand, sit, and walk the showroom floor. Must be able to lift at least 15 pounds on occasion. Must be able to push, pull, and reach with hands and arms. Must have close and distance vision. Must be able to type.
